Route
Morning tour:
9:30 am: Pickup in front of Hotel Le Bristol (address: 44 cours Jean Jaurès 84000 Avignon)
10:15 am: Stroll in the beautiful town of L’Isle sur la Sorgue (40 minutes drive), surrounded by canals and water wheels, or in the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse when the river Sorgue will flow over the rocks for an amazing scenery. Duration: about 30 minutes.
11:30 am: Discover the ochre’s Mines of Bruoux (35 minutes drive, admission tickets included in the price) by doing the site’s guided tour in its huge galleries (15 metres / 49 feet high) digged in the mountain. Duration: about 1 hour.
12:30 pm: Provençal picnic with the Mines of Bruoux in the background. This picnic will be made up of local goods only (instance: hard-boiled eggs from the farm, tapenade, anchovy purée, fresh goat cheese, seasonal fruits, grape juice). Duration: about 1 hour.
1:45 pm: Be amazed in the colourful narrow streets of Roussillon (15 minutes drive), village completely covered of ochre and listed among the most beautiful villages of France. Duration: about 45 minutes.
2:45/3:00 pm: Photo-stop with a fantastic view over Gordes (15 minutes drive), then free time in this village listed among the most beautiful villages of France. Duration: about 10 minutes for the photo stop and about 45 minutes in the village.
3:45/4:00 pm: Back to Avignon (1 hour drive). Arrival in front of Hotel Le Bristol at around 4:45/5:00 pm.
