Really happy and satisfied with the tour! Arno was simply brilliant, well versed with the town and an out and out wine connoisseur! Although we know that we booked the ‘wine only’ tour since the afternoon slot only had that option, in the end we were left wanting that every wine tour should have some kind of food pairing to it even if it’s a bite of cheese/meat. Excellent CdP Wine Tour - 5 STARS! 5 STARS! Our tour guide made this trip exceptional! He was extremely knowledgeable, very accommodating & friendly, plus he never rushed us at all. His English was textbook! The 3 stops we made were well chosen for good wines & very friendly vineyard hosts. Our guide packed a fresh lunch for us, grown locally. He offered to store our purchases in his cooler. Accompanied us on garden walks pointing out the names of the herbs & the flowers. He always offered to take photos. Arnaud's Half Day Winery with Lunch: a true gem! Arnaud was a fabulous host and tour guide. Our group was very diverse (a couple from Switzerland, a couple from Australia, a woman from Hungary, a gentleman from Canada (French speaking), and a gentleman from California who moved to France 4 years ago) and me (an American from Florida). Luckily for me, everyone (including Arnaud) was comfortable with English. He was so knowledgeable about each of the histories of the wineries and the history of wine making in that area. We were greeted at each winery with a sommelier who guided us through their process. After the second winery, we had a delicious family-style meal compliments of Arnaud himself. He had fresh goat cheeses from his village, two types of tapenades (the black olive one was delish), fresh hard boiled eggs from his parents' farm, and the freshest cantaloupe I've ever had. We sat at a picnic table under a tree in the vineyard with a breeze blowing. I felt like a true Parisian! By far an amazing tour. I had a day to spend alone in Avignon and I was thrilled to spend it with these other travelers, lovely wines, and a fantastic tour guide. Book this tour. Arnaud is a one man business and deserves many years of tours. If this is any indication of the quality of tours he offers, I would have loved to try his other four tours. A fantastic experience with a great guide ! It was a wonderful experience. The guide is self-employed and does everything himself.
